Stokes County Humane Society’s mission is “To preserve the value of all life by striving to prevent animal cruelty and neglect through community and to reduce pet over population through a rigorous low cost spay and neuter campaign.” This non-profit organization is not only an advocate for pet adoption through shelters or other rescue groups but also provides foster care for adoptable pets, rescues dogs through partnerships with other rescue organizations (Operation Puppy Love) and assists the community members in times of need with food, veterinary care and the low cost spay/neuter program.
